ON Friday morning my six month old daughter Lucia was taken into PMH with suspected kidney infection.
As I write this letter she is still undergoing tests. On Saturday about midday when my wife and I were feeling about as low as we could feel, we heard the roar of about 50 or so Harley Davison motor cycles.
Then the ward was full of leather clad motor-cyclists all bearing toys for the sick children. This brought a smile to my daughters face and tears to my eyes as they gave her a large cuddly toy and several other items.
One biker even came decked out as Santa Claus.
In the times we are living in we are too easily pessimistic of others and of our own lives, this goes to prove there are a lot of people out there who give up their time and money to help others they do not even know.
This is an annual event where they not only supply toys for the sick children on the ward at the time but supply toys for the playrooms used all year round.
I would just like to say a big thank you to all those people who brought gifts on Saturday.
