GREEN-fingered pupils from a Radstock school have received their second award in two months.
Writhlington School's Greenhouse Club were class winners in the cymbidium section at the Wiltshire Orchid Society show, held in Warminster.
The club was given two rosettes at the event, which was attended by thousands of orchid enthusiasts.
Science teacher Simon Pugh-Jones runs the club which is open to any pupil, but is mainly attended by those in year seven to nine.
Mr Pugh-Jones said: "I run the club at lunchtimes and after school. It is open to any pupil and we don't just grow orchids. Orchids are what we show."
The win follows weeks of preparation by club members who previously received recognition at the Somerset Orchid show.
The group won best hybrid and best in show at the show, held last month at Glastonbury Town Hall, which featured displays from Birmingham and Devon.
Club member Tom Savine, who helped prepare plants for the shows, said: "We spent ages getting the plant looking really good. We cleaned every leaf and made sure all the flowers looked perfect."
The pupils next project will be showing at the Royal Horticultural Gardens in Wisley, Surrey, in 2003.
