MORE than 1,500 people celebrated the art of modelling at Swindon Model Railway Club's 41st annual show.
The two-day festival of modelling filled eight rooms of Greendown Community School, the show's venue for the past eight years.
Highlights included Stoke Summit, a model of a stretch of track between London and Edinburgh, and an Irish narrow gauge called Letter Kenny, based on a line running through a town in County Donegal, Ireland.
Club Secretary John Wood said: "We were very pleased with this year's show. The layouts were of a very high standard.
"The numbers were a little down on previous years, but we can attribute that to the bad weather and other events going on"
The club meets weekly at Blunsdon Station, on Tadpole Lane, Swindon, and new members are always welcome. Call club secretary John Wood on Swindon 535560.
