SUPERMARINE 1ST 42, HARWELL 19: Supermarine made it five wins in a row after an emphatic win over Harwell in a friendly.

The game started well with the Marine forwards dominating in the rucks and mauls.

It wasn't long before Marine opened the scoring from a set piece move, which saw captain Mark Sheppard score in the corner.

Harwell restarted and a ruck was formed. The ball popped out and was secured by Gareth Case who beat three Harwell players to score the second try.

From the kick off Marine set the ball and used their forwards to penetrate the Harwell defence.

Marine were awarded a penalty within the Harwell 22. This was taken quickly by scrum half Jim Hodgeson who dived over to score another try.

Towards the end of the first half Marine became complacent and allowed Harwell to score a converted try.

The second half started the same as the first with Marine pressing forward and attacking the Harwell line.

The ball was sent along the Marine back line, who had created a two-man overlap, and Martin White was able to score.

Harwell began to get more into the game and were awarded a penalty try due to a rolling maul being collapsed by the Marine forwards. The try was converted.

This try made Marine step up a gear. After some great interchanging movement between forwards and backs, centre Jim Bristow was able to pick the ball up from the back of a ruck and score between the posts. Richard McEwen converted.

In the last ten minutes Marine played the best rugby they've played all season. Gareth Case went over for his second try of the game and Number 8 Nick Moulden overcame a leg injury to score two superb tries within two minutes of the end.

Harwell did manage to score a late try, but the game was already won.
