NORWEGIAN nurses have arrived at Princess Margaret Hospital to analyse its world-beating anti-infection techniques.

The Swindon hospital asks all frontline staff to make sure they wash their hands between attending to one patient and the next. Its policy aims to combat the problem of so-called superbugs.

These are harmful bacteria which can cause sometimes life-threatening conditions, and have become more dangerous in recent years after developing resistance to antibiotics.

However, Princess Margaret Hospital's policy has given it one of the lowest rates for such infections.
