DANNY Invincible's footballing education may have started in sunny Sydney but the visit of Gateshead to a soggy County Ground on Saturday provides the youngster with another opportunity to test himself.

His manager is adamant the player has the potential to terrorise defences at any level.

The 21-year-old Australian (pictured, above) arrived at the County Ground in the summer and has provided Town fans with glimpses of the talent he undoubtedly possesses.

But Andy King would like to see his player display greater consistency.

He has netted seven times for Town in 20 appearances and retains the confidence of the Town chief, even though he hasn't scored in his last four outings.

King said the Australian's part in Town's winning goal at Northampton on Saturday showed both the player's strengths and how far he still has to go.

"I think Danny should have scored. He had a one-on-one and if he's going to be a player's player he's going to have to show me that he can finish them," he said. The Town boss said his Australian forward had one asset which really frightens defenders pace.

" I don't think he realises just how quick he is. His pace is unbelievable. At times he has more opportunities to attack the space behind him than he is probably aware of," said King.
