WHAT a terrific achievement for Pewsey Vale School to be in the top four schools in Wiltshire for GCSE passes, especially as the other three were one grammar and two independent schools.
It is a tragedy that these pupils are denied the chance to stay at Pewsey Vale for their sixth form and A Levels unbelievable that in this day and age there is no sixth form.
They will be dissipated to Marlborough, Swindon and perhaps Salisbury, if they can get places.
When asking why, the standard response is that there are too few pupils to warrant a sixth form.
I believe the reason for this is precisely because of that fact, a lot of parents send their children to St. John's School in Marlborough or other schools in order not to disrupt their schooling after GCSE.
Pewsey Vale School is obviously doing a brilliant job and serves a wide surrounding area. It deserves to be upgraded and have a sixth form, in other words to join the 21st century.
