Hallen 0, Chippenham Town 2

TWO goals from Steve Tweddle took holders Chippenham through to the next round of the Les Phillips Cup.

There was a blow for Hallen in the opening minute when they had to reorganise after losing Tom Knight with an injury.

Chippenham, who beat Taunton in last season's final, took the lead midway through the first half when Tweddle netted from the penalty spot after he had been fouled.

Tweddle settled the issue after Paul Griffiths had given the ball away. It was his 15th goal in 13 games.

Downton 0, Devizes Town 3

DEVIZES produced a convincing display to run out comfortable winners in this Wiltshire Premier Shield tie, earning themselves a quarter final meeting with near neighbours Calne Town.

Devizes made a strong start against the Jewson Wessex League side and took the lead after five minutes. Defender Chris Copp's first time pass released David Lloyd, whose perfectly weighted cross saw Barry Flippance heading home unchallenged.

They extended their lead four minutes later, when a quickly taken corner found its way to wing back Nick Mooney and his cross-cum-shot eluded the hosts' goalkeeper Neil Ford on its way into the net.

Devizes continued to hold the upper hand into the second half and it was little surprise when the visitors extended their advantage ten minutes from time.

A mistake from defender Matt Burton gifted Mooney a chance which the Town wingback, having teased his way past two challenges, accepted with a clinical finish.
