MAY I, through the courtesy of your columns, thank the people of Trowbridge and District for their kind and generous support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal this year.
The total collection this year amounted to £13,365.52, which is approximately £800 more than last year, and is, in fact, a record collection in this area.
The Poppy Appeal is most grateful to all those who contributed, and also the many who helped collect such a magnificent sum. The Royal British Legion relies very much on the money collected by the Poppy Appeal to continue to help those ex-servicemen and women and their dependants in need, both in the community and in the residential and convalescent homes run by the Legion.
With very many thanks to all who helped.
MATTHEW RIDLEY,
Honorary Local Organiser,
Middle Lane,
Trowbridge.
