AIRCRAFT enthusiasts are being given the chance to tell the organisers of the world's biggest military air show just what they think about the event.
But they will have to hurry because there are only 100 tickets available for people who want to attend what is being billed as a stakeholders forum on the Royal International Air Tattoo.
The two day RIAT is normally held at RAF Fairford. But last year the event took place at RAF Cottesmore in Rutland, as it is set to next year, because of repairs being carried out on Fairford's runway. It will return to the Gloucestershire base in 2002.
RIAT director Paul Bowen said the forum would take place on January 20 next year and will be held at Douglas Bader House, the RIAT'S headquarters at RAF Fairford.
Mr Bowen said: "We want to hear the views of enthusiasts on every aspect of RIAT.
This includes aircraft participation, aircraft parking, commentary, the flying display, park and view, crowd line and traffic arrangements, customer service and the RIAT website.
"Another topic up for debate will be the success or otherwise of the RIAT and Farnborough running back-to-back for the first time."
Joining Mr Bowen in the discussion will be Tim Prince, RIAT's director of operations, together with permanent tattoo staff and managers responsible for airfield management, the flying display programme and airshow commentary.
The 100 forum places will be available on a first come, first served basis, and the day will include a buffet lunch.
Anyone wanting to attend the free event should call Christina Iddon on 01285 713456 to reserve a seat.
