M HARRISON (Letters) might like to know that my day also benefits from animal research.
The reason animals are used in medical research is to save lives and therefore, rather than attacking medical researchers, we should be thanking them.
My mother is living proof, as are many others, that animal research saves lives and hope is on the horizon for people with serious illnesses such as Alzheimer's or Multiple Sclerosis.
Seriously Ill for Medical Research (SIMR) is a patients' group which supports the humane use of animals in medical research.
Our members suffer from illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, asthma, arthritis and others.
