VISITORS to Swindon's Steam museum are today being given the chance to find out more about the job of a signalman.
Signalling expert Mike Hanscomb brought the attraction's signal box to life with regular demonstrations of the equipment used and the work done in Great Western days.
Visitors are also able to meet former railway workers and join engine drivers, fireman and railway workers to find out more about life inside the Swindon works.
Santa will be at the museum all weekend in his special railway grotto and children will also be able to take part in a fun Christmas activity trail around the museum and enjoy free rides on a mini train.
The Ramsbury Silver Band will also play seasonal favourites tomorrow in the Caerphilly Castle Hall from 11.30am and 1.30pm.
The museum has hands-on displays, computer interactives, videos and audio presentations.
Steam, the Museum of the Great Western Railway, is funded through a unique partnership bringing together the Heritage Lottery Fund, Swindon Borough Council, Carillion Development Management and BAA MacArthurGlen.
