FA Cup Sunday action: Nick Crittenden entered Yeovil's FA Cup hall of fame when the giant-killers claimed their 20th league scalp in the competition against 1953 winners Blackpool.
Crittenden struck in first-half injury-time at Bloomfield Road, slamming the ball high into Phil Barnes' net after it broke to him off Jon O'Connor 12 yards out, to send the Conference leaders into the third round with a 1-0 victory.
Blackpool manager Steve McMahon saw his side's failure to score as their biggest failing.
"For once I won't criticise my defence," he said.
"It was the attack which failed us."
Elsewhere in yesterday's cup ties there was to be no more giant-killing for brave Canvey Island who nonetheless made their near neighbours Southend fight every inch of the way for their 2-1 win at Roots Hall.
The Third Division club struck once in each half, taking the lead in the 38th minute when Scott Forbes powered in a 15-yard drive after Kevin Maher had set up the chance.
Their second goal arrived 10 minutes from time when Ben Abbey seized on a long goal kick before moving forward to beat Ashley Harrison in the Canvey goal.
Peterborough and Oldham will have to try again after yesterday's 1-1 draw at London Road.
Millwall and Wycombe will also play again after their goalless clash at The New Den.
