FA Cup Round-Up: Dagenham & Redbridge's Mark Janney hit a 90th-minute winner to give the Conference side a 1-0 win over Lincoln.

Janney's last-gasp strike upheld the honour of the Cup minnows , while Morecambe and Chester also struck blows for the Conference with victories over Cambridge and Oxford respectively.

Goals from John Hardicker and Mark Quayle were too much for Cambridge, for whom Tom Youngs provided unfulfilled hope with a 10th-minute equaliser that merely delayed the 2-1 defeat.

Chester's 3-2 win at home to Second Division strugglers Oxford was a boost for their own confidence too following their relegation from the Nationwide League last spring.

Steve Whitehall was the home hero with the goals that sealed the tie in the 54th and 60th minutes. Earlier Oxford seemed set to enjoy their day off from their league woes. Phil Gray and Matt Murphy put them two goals up. But once again it all went wrong for them, Paul Beesley pulling one back before the break and Whitehall doing the rest.

It was a different story for Division Three's bottom club Carlisle, who beat Kiddermin-ster 2-0 thanks to strikes from Gordon Connelly and Scott Dobie.

Conference side Nuneaton could not repeat their first-round heroics and slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth. Richard Hughes, Wade Elliott and Gareth O'Connor came up with the Cherries' goals.

Bristol City dished out a 3-1 dismissal of the Conference's bottom club Kettering, despite going a goal behind to the visitors when Darren Collins struck just before the half-hour at Ashton Gate.

Lee Peacock, Simon Clist and the prolific Tony Thorpe (83) were on target to see City through.

Northwich Victoria battled their way to a 3-3 draw at home to Leyton Orient.

The hosts had two goals from Gary Fletcher to thank for bringing them back to 2-2 after Carl Griffiths struck twice for the O's. Northwich's Adie Mike and Orient's Chris Tate then added a third goal for each team.

Brighton striker Bobby Zamora's day turned sour in a 2-1 defeat against Scunthorpe. Zamora had equalised Steve Torpey's opener, but he saw his team go behind to a Gareth Sheldon strike and then was sent off.

Cardiff got the better of 10-man Cheltenham, running out 3-1 winners at Ninian Park. Russell Milton put the visitors a goal up early on but Robert Earnshaw hit a double and Kevin Evans also netted to see the Welshmen through.

Cheltenham's Julian Alsop was sent off for violent conduct five minutes before the break.

York came from two goals behind to earn a reprieve against Reading at Bootham Crescent.

Ricky Newman and Martin Butler put the Royals in the driving seat, but David McNiven and Alex Mathie hit back to level the match before the hosts' Kevin Hulme was sent off near the end.

Darlington and Luton will have to try again after a goalless draw while a 14th-minute own goal from Northampton's Garry Hughes was enough to consign the Cobblers to a 1-0 defeat against Rotherham at Millmoor.

Kingstonian made a mockery of the Conference form book with a 2-1 win away to high-fliers Southport. Mark Harris and Geoff Pitcher did the damage for the Surrey side, and Dino Maamria's reply was not enough.
