THE Town boss was fuming after his treatment by the match officials against Gateshead.
King's energetic approach during the game did not endear him to the men in black and he spent the second half away from the dug out. This followed a half time "chat" with referee Mr Kaye.
While some managers sit quietly on the bench, King prefers to make use of the official coaching area to bellow instructions, encouragement and criticism to his players. He said: "I have an area in which to stand during a game and he (the fourth official) was trying to tell me that I can't do my job."
"If I want to shout at players or change the formation then it is not his job to interfere."
The Town manager said officials should show more understanding about the pressures a manager faced rather than trying to obstruct them.
Skipper Alan Reeves said the manager had been spoken to at half time by the referee and wasn't too happy.
