HAVING read your letter from Mr J R Harris I am to put it mildly very angry.

Firstly Reverend Carol Stone did not have her sex change operation on the NHS but paid for it herself.

Secondly this operation was not done as a whim but, as she has explained on many occasions, after many years of soul searching.

I have known Rev Carol for all of her four years at St Philip's.

I, being a parishioner of many years, have found her to be a very kind and caring person. If Mr Harris should come to attend a service at St Philip's he would perhaps understand why she is held in such high esteem.

I do have some sympathy with Mr Harris as I too have a heart problem so have to face at some time open heart surgery.
