I would like to draw your readers' attention to the proposed decision of this council to close and eventually knock down one of the oldest schools in Swindon, Rodbourne Cheney Primary School.
It seems it is a good decision to take away this family school and to transplant the children to neighbouring schools (including the building of an extension at Moredon Junior and Infants.
As a father of two at this school, I know the children are very happy. Indeed it holds a special atmosphere, an atmosphere that many generations of Swindon people have experienced, as it is now well over a hundred years old. This last fact is probably its downfall because, of course, in Swindon anything of any age is doomed for closure and the demolition man.
Can't this council come to their senses for once and put a small amount of money into these buildings and not close this lovely community school.
