ANTOINE Van Der Linden believes victory over Oldham Athletic will provide one of the six wins needed to secure survival.
The laid back Dutch defender believes people are rather too eager to press panic buttons.
He believes 50 points should be enough to keep Town in Division Two and he is determined Andy King's side should reach that target.
Van Der Linden enjoyed a solid game at Wigan on Saturday and he is confident Town can secure three points tonight.
He said: "We clearly need to win the game this evening and I think we are more than capable of doing so. If we can add a bit of quality to the hard work then we should do it.
"The important thing is to get another run going as quickly as possible and pull away from the relegation area."
The Dutchman is adamant that no-one at the club is ready to throw in the towel, despite the precarious league position.
Although there are only a couple of months of the season remaining, there is no sense of desperation in the camp according to Van Der Linden.
He said: "There are still 14 league games left to play and a lot of points still available.
"We know we are capable of getting the wins we need but we must not have any more bad results, such as the match against Luton.
"In my opinion, 50 points will be enough to keep us up. We just have to keep getting results.
"Another six wins would be enough and I can certainly see us winning those before the end of the season."
Van Der Linden was a member of the party that travelled to Boundary Park in September and succumbed to a late goal.
The defender knows the importance of putting the record straight tonight.
He said: "You do not have any easy games in football and we have to make sure we work as hard as we did at Wigan to pick up the three points."
n Andy King's defensive options have increased ahead of tonight's match as Mark Robinson has now served his suspension. However, Keith O'Halloran will miss the match, and also Saturday's game at Oxford.
