ANYONE with a child must despair at the plight of Elaine and John Challinor.
They have been doing their upmost to wean their son Stephen off the drug that is ruining his life.
But after moving him out of Swindon, setting him up in a flat. booking doctors' appointments for him, and providing him with endless love, they have reached the end of their tether.
They can't do it by themselves.
Stephen is now so ill he cannot walk properly, gets stomach cramps, and is almost incapacitated if he does not get a fix of heroin.
But he is not the only one suffering. His parents are watching him throw his life down the drain, and they don't know what else to do to help him.
Stephen is 12th in a list to get professional counselling and prescribed methadone. But the chances of getting seen quickly are slim, because new and urgent cases are being put on the waiting list every day.
Mr and Mrs Challinor are crying out for help let's hope somebody hears them.
