THE mayor of Swindon David Cox tried his hand at the carving deck of the new Toby Carvery in Swindon and helped raise money for charity at the same time.
David Farr, general manager of the Toby Carvery in Abbey Meads, has pledged to donate £1 for each meal sold in the carvery on that day to the Mayor's Charity Appeal.
The mayor said he was delighted to officially open the doors on the new Toby Carvery, which offers traditional roast, with a choice of three meats and eight vegetables and a lighter inn menu with options such as roast meat sandwiches.
The restaurant aims to provide good value fresh food in a welcoming and comfortable environment every day of the week.
The new Toby Carvery opened on Elstree Way and offers fresh carvery meals every day.
