BATH prop John Mallett will face an RFU disciplinary hearing after two yellow card offences saw him dismissed in Saturday's 48-9 Zurich Premiership defeat at Leicester Tigers.
Referee Brian Campsall sin-binned first-half brawlers Mallett, the Advertiser columnist, and Leicester tighthead Darren Garforth, and then produced another yellow card on 49 minutes immediately followed by red for over-use of the boot in a ruck.
Both offences appeared relatively innocuous though, and Bath are likely to mount a vigorous defence on Mallett's behalf when he is summoned by RFU disciplinary chiefs.
Callard described Mallett's first yellow card, given by referee Brian Campsall for brawling with Leicester prop Darren Garforth, as "pathetic".
"They are 18-stone forwards, and if they can't have a little tiff without being sent to the sin-bin, then it is ludicrous," Callard added.
