SPONSORED parachute jumps by vicar the Rev Robin Cardwell and his churchwarden David Gent have been postponed for the second time due to poor weather.
The skydives were originally due to take place last weekend but high wind speeds put the dampers on the event.
It was rescheduled to yesterday, but low cloud scuppered the attempt this time.
Now it is hoped the clergymen can take to the skies this Saturday or Sunday, but the fate of the challenge still rests in the hands of the gods. The aim of the stunt is to raise funds to repair the roof at St Andrew's Church, Wanborough, as urgent repairs are necessary.
The cost of the jumps, which are intended to take place at Redlands Farm in Lower Wanborough, has been donated by Skydive Redlands, which operates from the site.
Spectators are welcome togo to the farm to witness the jumps with a £1 charge for adults going to the appeal. Details can be obtained from Sarah Smith on Swindon 791014.
