DOG-friendly pubs in Swindon are being invited to advertise on a website for animal lovers.
And anybody looking for a taproom for their terrier, a saloon for their spaniel or even a boozer for their bassett will be able to find one.
The site is the brainchild of dog-loving computer software engineer, Joe Tully, 44.
Mr Tully, who shares his Shaw home with partner Alison, 39, and seven-year-old Italian Spinone dog Truscoe, is a member of Swindon Animal Sanctuary.
The group is trying to raise the funds needed to set up a sanctuary in the town.
Mr Tully said: "The dog-friendly website is something we have for publicans who allow dogs.
"They can advertise on the site in exchange for a small donation to the fund. At the moment, we have a listing for the Old Bear in Cricklade, but we are hoping there will be many more."
Mr Tully stressed that he could not think of any bars which were unfriendly to dog owners.
However, some pubs are increasingly styling themselves as restaurants, and many of these frown on people bringing pets with them.
Mr Tully added: "If publicans wish to publicise the fact that they like dogs and welcome them and their owners, this is an ideal opportunity.
"And it is also useful for dog owners, who will be able to see a list of places where they know they and their dog will be welcome.
"In the future, we hope to expand the site to include places where dog owners are welcome to spend the night."
Mr Tully added that the sanctuary fundraising campaign itself always welcomes donations and volunteers.
It has so far raised some £120,000 as it looks to create a permanent shelter, but more is needed if a site is to be found amid Swindon's booming property and land market.
The site can be found at www.sasa.freeserve.co.uk.
This accesses the sanctuary's main site, and visitors should then select Dogs Welcome from the menu.
Alternatively, publicans who would like to advertise, can contact Mr Tully himself on Swindon 346256.
