MORE than 700 children turned into book worms during Swindon's Reading Carnival.
And at the weekend the finale of the summer event was marked with a party with Ticklish Allsorts and Mr Tickles.
The magic act entertained children and then presented them with a certificate for taking part in the carnival.
Now in its fourth year, its reading game has become extremely popular with children who want to do something a little different during the summer holidays.
This year's reading game ran between July and the beginning of September.
Each child taking part in the game received a folder and collected a different card to fill out for each of the six books or story cassettes they had selected.
They also talked to volunteers and library staff about the books they had chosen.
The party was held at the Upper Room, above the Savoy Pub, in Regent Street.
