MP Michael Wills was always taking a risk by deciding to visit a nightclub on a Saturday night.

But revellers at the Brunel Rooms were genuinely appreciative that he had made the effort to speak to them.

And he was involved in two hours of lively and constructive debate on issues ranging from drugs to the state of the town's parks.

Call it a cynical publicity stunt if you will, but at least Mr Wills is attempting to connect with people who might otherwise take no interest in politics.
