Nationwide has again been recognised for its commitment to employees.
The Swindon-based building society has been presented with the Excellence in Training award at this year's Personnel Today Awards in London.
The award recognises a successful training programme developed in partnership with Minerva.
Designed for employees working within Nationwide Direct, it has improved the performance of call centre employees and their managers and is aimed at enhancing the standard of service provided to members.
All managers were trained in the skills necessary to provide effective feedback and coaching to help advisers to further improve their performance.
"By improving the quality of the conversations our advisers have with customers we can provide a more tailored service," said nationwide spokewoman Jennifer Stoddart.
"Customer satisfaction ratings have demonstrated that this training has been remarkably successful. In addition to this employee job satisfaction levels have also improved."
"This training programme has added enormous value to our members and shows the real benefit of our Investor in People status.
"None of this could have been achieved without systematically developing those who actually deliver the success."
