SWINDON Canine Society celebrated its 75th birthday with a dog show at the Oasis.
The society was formed in 1926 when a group of people came together with the purpose of encouraging the breeding and showing of dogs.
It was then registered with the Kennel Club but was suspended during the Second World War.
After the war, enthusiasts came together and the society was reformed.
It has been successfully running since then, with the training section started in 1955.
On Saturday, the society was celebrating its history while running the dog show, which proved to be more popular than ever with several new breeds on show including Shar-Pei, soft coated Wheaten terriers and Tibetan spaniels.
Secretary of the society Pat Gregory said: "Today people from all walks of life derive great pleasure from this hobby.
"Now we run an open show, limited show, training, ringcraft and monthly matches.
"A warm welcome awaits anyone who would like to come along and participate in any of the activities."
