CENTRAL defender Andy Gurney said the players were gutted after their Bloomfield Road defeat but would not be throwing in the towel.
The former Reading and Bristol Rovers man admitted that it had been a bad day at the office for Roy Evans' men.
He said: "We didn't play well in a poor game. It's a long way to come for nothing.
"Blackpool looked sharp but I think we've made their job easier.
"We know that when we play well we can go and beat anyone.
"But we didn't take our chances and came away with nothing."
Gurney said it was not a case of a few individuals not performing. Everyone had to accept responsibility for the Bloomfield Road failure.
But two defeats would not lead to an horrendous slump, said the summer signing.
He said: "There's too many bubbly people about the place to let heads drop.
"It's just a case of getting back to the way we were a couple of weeks ago."
Fellow central defender Matt Heywood said: "I think overall that Blackpool were the better side on the day.
"They were a good attacking side. They weren't totally convincing in defence but we couldn't take advantage of that."
It proved to be another fruitless afternoon in front of goal for striker Giuliano Grazioli.
Town's top scorer went desperately close with a header but couldn't make the breakthrough.
He said: "They seemed to find more space than we did.
"It was just a poor performance all round.
"From my point of view I had the chance in the first half. I got a little nudge in the back but even so I should have hit the target.
"If it was going to be our day then I think that one would have dropped in.
"Danny's had a chance at the end but it hasn't gone in.
"Would a draw have been justice? What will be will be in football."
Substitute Paul McAreavey was the man chopped down in the dying seconds to give Danny Invincible his chance from the spot.
He said: "Fair play to Danny for stepping up. Sometimes they go in and sometimes they don't .
"I guess that's football for you."
