THE Designer Outlet Village is celebrating bringing its latest designer sporting goods store to Swindon.
Beginning on November 22, Adidas will have a 4,650 square foot site in the huge discount centre on the Churchward site of the former Great Western Railway Works.
The addition to the roster will bring the centre's total number of quality sporting goods shops to four.
Nike, Donnay and Puma are already there.
Outlet Village spokeswoman Shelley Wright said: "Adidas coming is quite a coup for us.
"It is a name that is quite new to outlet shopping, and it brings what we have to offer in sportswear to a fairly high standard.
"There are other sportswear firms now looking to come to us, but we are not yet in a position to say which ones."
Adidas is the latest company in only a few weeks to decide to open at the outlet village, which specialises in selling designer items at discount prices.
A few weeks ago, Marks and Spencer, which also has a large store in the town centre, moved into a 6,000 square foot unit.
It uses its new premises to sell items ranging from men's, women's and children's fashion clothing to underwear at discounts of up to 15 per cent on standard prices.
And Lakeland, the prestige leather goods chain, has recently opened at a 1,250 square foot site.
Ms Wright said: "It sells ladies' and gents' clothing, nightwear, casual items and things like purses.
"The centre has been open for about four years now, and has gone through some changes.
"We have seen a lot of new names coming here, such as Burberry and Gant Gant opened its first outlet store here."
