A COMMUNITY garden open day encouraging people to celebrate and find out more about trees was held at a Swindon garden centre.
Hosted by mental health charity TWIGS, which uses gardening as a therapeutic medium for people suffering from mental illnesses, the open day was designed to encourage more people to appreciate their natural surroundings.
A tree trail, tree planting, furniture making and seedling identification tests were among the activities laid on at Manor Garden Centre.
Swindon and District Bee Keepers Association was also at the event selling locally made honey and representatives from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust offered advice on trees and shrubs.
