It's sometimes easy to forget that local conveniences mean just that after all, public toilets aren't only located in the heart of Bath's city centre.
Take Twerton for instance 20 minutes walk from Milsom Street, it boasts a rather nice trio of toilets (Ladies, Gents, Disabled), situated just behind the shops off the village's High Street.
Not on everyone's list of must-see lavatories we grant you, and clearly not regularly used, but all the same, it's hard not to be impressed.
With plenty of parking space out front, they're ideal for anyone who simply can't hold on until they've found a parking space in Bath.
Opening times: Difficult to say, probably 8am to 7pm.
Number of urinals: One long trough. And spotless.
Ladies: Unable to enter due to shortage of appropriate gender nearby.
Disabled: Didn't have a key, but door was nicely finished.
Washing/drying facilities: One of those three-in-one gizmos (soap, water, air). All three seemed up and running.
Bouquet: Positively meadow-like but couldn't find an air freshener anywhere.
Cleanliness: Not bad. No need to dry-clean your clothes afterwards.
Lighting: Adequate.
Decor: Municipally miserable.
Worth visiting?: Worth a look-see in daylight, but could feel menacing at night.
