DEVIZES TOWN'S recent run of form came to an end last night, after a 2-1 defeat at Screwfix Premier Division leaders Brislington.
The Bristol-based outfit are unbeaten in the league this season and Brian Newlands' Devizes side put up brave resistance before eventually succumbing to a strike from former Bristol Rovers man David Mehew.
Newlands' charges went behind after just five minutes when Brislington striker Noel O'Sullivan scored from the spot.
But a resilient Devizes held firm for the remainder of the half and restored parity two minutes after the restart when Nick Mooney fired past former Chippenham Keeper Ian Jones.
Town looked well on course for an excellent point before veteran Mehew drove home the winner 14 minutes from time.
Despite the defeat, Devizes remain sixth in the table.
After a succession of defeats, Division One strugglers Calne Town managed to stop the rot with a well earned point at home to mid-table Weston St Johns.
Justin Lowe put the hosts ahead with a penalty on the half-hour mark.
Ten minutes later, Lowe had another chance to score from the spot, but this time the midfielder failed to convert.
The miss was punished just two minutes later when experienced goal-getter Graham Cheeseman grabbed an equaliser.
The visitors dominated after the break, but Calne held on to secure a 1-1 draw and register their first point in November.
