SHERSTON Parish Council is asking manufacturers to modify plans for a new £40,000 playground at Pennymead following consultation with youngsters in the village.
Three meetings were held with young people last month to gauge opinion.
The meetings took place at Sherston School on October 17, in the Scout hut next to the existing playground on October 20 and in the village hall the following day.
Questionnaires have also been distributed throughout the village.
Four manufacturers have submitted quotes and plans for the new playground, which were on show at the three meetings.
"The consultation has been very useful and the manufacturers, each national companies, provided proposals," said parish clerk.Tony Wood.
He said youngsters had picked out different parts from each plan that they wished to see incorporated in the play area.
At a parish council meeting in Sherston on Thursday councillors agreed to go back to the manufacturers to ask them to modify their plans, in light of the children's opinions.
Mr Wood said plans for a skateboard park have also been discussed.
He said a noise consultant has been employed to advise on suitable sites and type of equipment.
North Wiltshire District Council has agreed that it will put forward £8,500 for the plans, and the parish council would then be expected to match this funding itself.
