MID-WILTS SUNDAY LEAGUE: SELECTABOOK took an early lead in their Tamaru Hinchey Shield match against Trowbridge Wanderers when Jamie Rowe's sixth minute shot took a slight deflection off a defender.
Wanderers replied 12 minutes later through Paul Clarke, who beat the offside trap and then the goalkeeper with a sweet shot into the top left corner.
Both teams defended well, leaving a stalemate until 25 minutes into the second half when a 35 yard shot was pushed onto the crossbar by Wanderers' keeper Scott Carrick only to see Gary Hopper fire home the rebounded.
Carrick pulled off another magnificent save from Jamie Gale's blistering penalty kick to keep Wanderers in with a chance, but with only minutes left Selactabook's Nick Lemon put the game out of reach by knocking the ball in during a goalmouth scramble.
Linpac went 1-0 up early in the first half of their match against the Dolphin when Mickey Scarff shot home from a poor clearance. The Dolphin soon equalised through Darren Folkard's header from a Wayne Johnson corner and went 2-1 up just before half-time when Andy Bevan-Witts slotted home from the edge of the area.
The second half saw The Dolphin take control, with Julian Fielding scoring and James Booth making up for missing a penalty by scoring the fourth. Linpac created chances, but unable to finish them, and The Dolphin increased their lead when Jonathan Emm found the net and Lee Barber headed in from four yards to give them a 6-1 win.
Fox and Hounds had a very tough game against Devizes Snooker Club which was gola-less at the end of the first half.
Chris Bishop opened the scoring for The Hounds, hitting home from Lee Baston's free kick, but Snooker Club levelled the score shortly after when Gareth Veitch fired in from the penalty spot. but Mark Skuse's header sealed a 2-1 victory for the Fox and Hounds in the dying minutes.
Netheravon started their game against The Bell by the Green with only 10 players but fine defending from Alistair Gammie and Pete Plank kept The Bell at bay for a 0-0 half-time score.
The arrival of Wayne Drodge for Netheravon in the second half saw them back to full strength and Drodge claimed the opening goal from a Paul O'Rourke cross. The visitors went 2-0 shortly after with a strike from Dave Drewitt, but The Bell clawed one back with a glorious 45 yard shot from Duncan Biggins, who had spotted the goalkeeper off his line.
Netheravon made it 3-1 from the penalty spot after Drewitt was brought down in the area and two goals from Steve Webb and one from Paul O'Rourke completed the scoring in their 6-1 win.
