BATH'S Steve Borthwick has passed a fitness test on his injured knee and will take his place in England's second row for the Test match against Romania at Twickenham on Saturday.
The 22-year-old has shrugged off the injury picked up against London Irish last Sunday and will partner Leicester's Ben Kay in a much-changed England side for the clash against the European minnows.
There had been fears that Borthwick was about to suffer his second disappointment in a week, after losing out to Kay in the fight to partner Danny Grewcock in last weekend's defeat of Australia.
But a fitness test yesterday passed the Carlisle-born player to add to his debut cap against France during the Six Nations Championship, and subsequent appearances on the summer tour of North America.
He will be joined in the England side by club colleagues Mike Tindall and Mark Regan, with Mike Catt and Danny Grewcock on the bench.
