CORSHAM dominated this Southern Counties South game but came very close to losing due to unforced errors and wrong options being taken.
The Melksham side took the lead against the run of play when, following a quickly taken penalty by scrum half John Cox, excellent handling by the backs saw winger Matt Glover round the defence to score under the posts, centre Rich Woolfood adding the conversion.
Corsham replied with a try from open side flanker Rich Morea, to trail 7-5 at half-time, and took the lead early in the second half when centre Rory Auld added a penalty.
The visitors could not convert pressure into points and with two minutes remaining a penalty by Woolfood made the score 10-8. An unlikely victory looked possible for the home side until centre Ashley Collins was caught offside and Corsham fly half Phil Kernan held his nerve to give Corsham the points with the last kick of the game.
