A WARMINSTER man is competing in one of the world's toughest races.
Will Mason has teamed up with Tim Thurman from Grimsby to tackle The Ward Evans Atlantic Rowing Challenge, which has a 2,900 nautical mile route from Tenerife to Barbados.
Thirty-six pairs of amateur rowers from 15 countries were at the starting line on October 7.
The world record for the race stands at 41 days, but most teams will take 50 to 100 days.
On Tuesday, the pair were in sixth place in their boat, Bright Spark, 760 miles from the finishing line.
Michelle Thompson from Appeal PR, the company promoting the race, said: "Bright Spark are doing exceptionally well. They are the second highest British team in the positions table."
