WHILE the England-based British motor industry felt they couldn't stage the usual motor show this year, the Scots are made of more sterling stuff.
Appropriately, Stirling Castle was the location for the annual Scottish Car of the Year Awards, which coincided with the motor show in Glasgow.
The supreme title went to the Jaguar X-Type (above), while the best family car award went to Kia's 2.5-litre V6 Magentis.
The best-selling car in Scotland, the Renault Clio, defeated the new Mini for the title of best small car.
The Clio's fast 172 model (below) is also a
winner it topped Car magazine's massive test to find the hottest hatchback on the market. The magazine said: "For £15,495 you're getting 172bhp, 138mph, and the ability to crack 60mph in seven seconds."
