ONLY Fools and Horses is set to return to our screens but Swindon is set for an exclusive preview.
Del Boy lookalike, Maurice Canham, who won LWT's Stars and Their Doubles, will be appearing in the Christmas carnival on Sunday, November 25, complete with a yellow Robin Reliant made famous by the hit TV show.
Maurice, who says he is 21 plus VAT, said: "The people of Swindon are cushty. I'm really looking forward to it. Lovely jubbly. I'm hoping to shift some gear afterwards, as I know there are some bargain hunters out there. You know it makes sense."
The replica vehicle is being loaned to carnival organisers by Wiltshire Car Centre based in Lyneham.
Service manager at the car centre, Stephen Ongley, 30, says the car proves a hit with everyone who sees it. He said: "Everyone associates the car with Del Boy. It's not the exact same one but there aren't many of them out there.
"It's not a common vehicle which is why people stare.
"It's great fun to drive it and watch people's reactions as I'm going along the dual carriageway. They always start laughing. I just wave back."
People will be able to see Del Boy and the car as they parade through the town from 10am and then Del Boy will be appearing in the Brunel Centre where he will raffle off a football signed by soccer legend, Vinnie Jones. Proceeds go to the Prospect Hospice.
A three-part special of the hit comedy is in production now reuniting old favourites Del and Rodney and should be on TV screens in the New Year.
