A CLASSIC opera has raised about £3,000 for two good causes.
Christchurch in Swindon's Old Town was the venue for a performance of Tosca by Puccini.
Directed by Ray Howell and featuring members of the Swindon Opera musical group, it attracted an audience of 300. The proceeds will now be divided between the Prospect Hospice and the church's 150th anniversary fund.
Sue Black took the title role, while Edward Harper starred as Scarpia.
Mr Howell, who also took a singing role and acted as producer of the show, said he was delighted with the success of the project.
He said: "We chose Tosca because we knew it would attract people, and we have been proved right."
