MISSING Burbage mother-of-two Sarah Annis, who disappeared with her youngest child after a court ordered her to hand the girl over to her French father, has voluntarily surrendered to custody.
Ms Annis, whose parents live near Pewsey, is to ask the Court of Appeal to overturn the decision of a French court that she should return her four-year-old daughter Tilly to live with her father Dominique Volant in St Nazaire, in Brittany.
Last week a High Court judge sitting in the Family Division court in London lifted a restriction on naming the family and appealed for the public's help in tracing 38-year-old Ms Annis, who has reverted to her maiden name.
This week Ms Annis contacted Wiltshire police to tell them she was staying with relatives. Before marrying M Volant, Ms Annis had previously been married to an Englishman and lived in Street in Somerset.
The house in the High Street, Burbage, that Ms Annis rents from Sarsen Housing Association, has been unoccupied for several weeks, according to neighbours.
