Screwfix: Melksham Town's long unbeaten run finally came to an end at Premier Division champions Taunton.
Robbie Lardner's men put up a brave fight against the FA Vase holders, but were eventually beaten by a solitary Ellis Laight goal.
Melksham set out to stop Taunton from playing their usual attacking brand of football, and what ensued was a drab encounter.
Lardner's spoiling tactics worked well for 70 minutes, and Taunton were reduced to desperate long balls as a stalemate looked likely.
But 20 minutes from time former Torquay man Laight rose to head home a Paul Edwards free-kick.
Melksham's Frankie Coleman came close to forcing an equaliser in the closing stages, but Taunton keeper Ryan Draper pulled off a fine stop to end Town's 12 game unbeaten streak.
In Division One, Corsham also slipped to a rare defeat, losing 2-1 at home to Shepton Mallet.
Matt Pratley registered for Corsham from the spot, but the defeat sees Mark Godley's troops slump from fourth to eighth in the table.
Meanwhile, Calne Town's season of misery continued after a humbling 6-0 thumping at Exmouth.
Calne have now lost five of their last six, and occupy second from bottom in Division One
