THE two sides fighting for control of Swindon Town will meet this week to see if they can resolve their bitter battle.
Chief executive Pete Rowe has brokered a meeting, which will see both parties sit down and talk rather than exchanging letters via their lawyers.
Rowe has been trying to organise such a meeting ever since a High Court ruling on November 5 left the club rudderless.
He said: "I am relieved that both sides have agreed to the meeting.
"It was getting slightly ridiculous.
"The longer all this drags on then the more potential damage it does to the club.
"I don't know what the outcome will be but I do believe that it's important to have dialogue before the extraordinary general meeting next month."
Consortium spokesman Bob Holt was at Saturday's game with Hartlepool United.
He has hoped to speak to Danny Donegan and Ian Blatchley but the former chairman and director were unable to attend.
Holt admitted that 'stubborness' on both sides had been a problem since the court ruling but hoped that a way could be found to end the wrangling.
But he reiterated again that Roy Evans was part of the consortium's future vision.
He said: "I just hope he will give us the benefit of the doubt even though he is understandably uneasy about a change of 'government' at the club if you like."
The club's extraordinary meeting will be held in the Winners Lounge at the County Ground on Friday, December 7 at 10.30am.
