ERIC SABIN is eagerly looking forward to Town's hectic spell of games even if it means almost certain bruises for the French striker.

The 26-year-old is happy to keep on being clattered in the penalty area because victories mask the pain of the challenges.

Sabin has yet to score for Town but he earned his fifth spot kick of the season when he was flattened in the box by Hartlepool's Jon Bass during Saturday's 3-1 FA Cup win.

On all five occasions, Town have never lost and Sabin revealed it is all about 'partnerships'.

He said: "I used to joke with Keith O'Halloran that if I was fouled then he had to make sure he scored.

"On Friday, I saw Razor practising penalties and I told him the same thing.

"I am pleased that he managed to score and set us on our way to a win."

With Town facing a punishing schedule of four games in 10 days, minds and bodies face a testing spell. But Sabin cannot wait.

He said: "I am happy to have all these games. To be honest, I would play matches every day if I could.

"I want to get sharper and help the team get more victories and begin to climb up the league."

Sabin actually had the ball in the net on Saturday but his first half header was ruled out.

Despite not yet scoring in his eight appearances for Town, the Frenchman is not flustered.

He said: "I am a collective player. I work for the team. If I don't score but we win then that makes me happy.

"But I know that the first goal will come for me. It will be so, so special."

Roy Evans is quite happy for his pacy striker to keep causing defenders to trip him up.

He said: "Eric has so much pace and his gangly frame means that once he is past them it's difficult for defenders not to bring him down.

"There's been no doubt about the penalties. He's not a diver, he just has that turn of speed that leaves defenders for dead."

Town travel to Loftus Road to face Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night. Ticket prices for the game are as follows: Adults (£15), concessions (£7) and juniors (£7). Further details on 01793 333777.
