SWINDON Supermarine clinched a comfortable 32-17 victory over visiting Marlborough, but only after a strong second half in Saturday's Dorset & Wilts Division 2 North encounter.
Marine found themselves trailing 15-17 at the break following a free-flowing first half.
Jamie Barrett (twice) and Mark Shepperd both crossed the try line in the opening period, but John Clarke was unable to add to the tally, failing to convert any of the three tries.
But the Supermarine defence stepped up several gears after the break, preventing the visitors from registering any further points.
Hooker Jamie Barrett quickly completed his hat-trick and Nick Clarke added a fifth try.
Kicker Clarke eventually rediscovered his composure in front of the posts, and added seven points with his boot to seal a fine comeback victory.
Elsewhere in the division, Cricklade followed up last weekend's tight 5-5 draw with Supermarine by clinching a 21-15 victory at Colerne.
Leaders Bradford on Avon, meanwhile, showed little respect to basement side Pewsey Vale as they romped to a 153-0 victory.
