LIDEN: A Swindon man was due to appear at Bristol Crown Court today (Tuesday) accused of attempting to murder a shopper who was queuing to buy his morning newspaper.
Alan Green allegedly stabbed the Asian man in an unprovoked attack at the One Stop Shop in Liden.
The victim's life was saved by doctors at Princess Margaret Hospital before he was taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital.
Green, 45, of Arnfield Moor, Liden, was arrested hours after the stabbing on Sunday November 11.
