South Swindon MP Julia Drown re-affirmed her support for environmental issues, when she joined the Associate Parliamentary Environment Group (APEG).
The APEG was established in 1993 to increase the awareness of environmental issues and improve the level of environmental debate. In the last parliament, the group had over 200 members from the House of Commons and more than 50 from the House of Lords.
In addition to this, over 150 companies, trade associations and environmental groups have taken associate member status. In the past few years a number of important British and foreign politicians have addressed the group.
Most recent to do so was Minister of State for the Environment, Michael Meacher.
