MORE than 200 people flocked to Wiltshire for a conference called Mysteries of the World in 2001.
The event touched upon a wide range of unexplained phenomena, including crop circles, inner consciousness, aliens and conspiracy theories about the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
It was held at Marlborough Leisure Centre just a few miles from Avebury and the Wiltshire Downs, which are internationally regarded as the hub of British crop circle appearances.
Speakers included Reg Presley, leader of the 1960s band, The Troggs, and now a respected ufologist, and Polly Carson, the Alton Barnes farmer whose land has been home to some of the most spectacular formations in the area.
One of the conference organisers, Tom Blower, said the event met all his expectations.
"It was brilliant," he said. "We had been hoping for a good attendance and we weren't disappointed.
"There was a lot of in-depth speeches and presentations about some fascinating stuff and some audience participation. I think it has really reinforced my opinions on a lot of things, especially the existence of inner consciousness, but I remain open-minded."
