There was a really good turn out of nearly 100 anglers for the Danny Bohane Memorial match fished on Marlborough AC's waters at Wolfhall, Brimslade and Farmers.
The match raised nearly £600 for Danny's wife Sue, and children.
Drawing pegs at Wolfhall section was a must as all of the top five weights made up of skimmer bream came from this area.
Top angler was Shane Ponting, with a great canal bag that weighed 27-10-0, well ahead of Cotswold's Dave Pearce, who took second with 15-11-0.
Third was the very consistent Gary Ethridge (Devizes) with 13-10-0 and was followed home by Brian Haigh (7-12-0) and John Gray (7-9-0).
Section winners: A. Phil Powell, 5-4-0; B. A Chapman, 5-4-8; C. Paul Senior, 4-13-0; D. Bob Stapleton, 2-5-0; E. M Black, 7-1-0; F. S Day, 2-14-0; G. Neil Richards, 4-7-0; H. Rob Kepner, 4-8-0; J. M Lichota, 3-4-0 & B Bathe, 3-4-0; L. Gary Williamson, 3-3-8; M. Matt Greaves, 5-6-0.
Weights were close in the Ivy House Lakes AC Club match on Sunday, where Dave Smith just got the verdict taking an 18-7-0 catch from peg 32 where he used a pole at 10 metres, feeding small amounts of trout pellet and a banded one on the hook.
Second was water owner Jo Warner who also used banded pellet presented under a waggler float for a 17-1-0 weight from peg 23.
Fishing his normal pole and meat method, Robert Keeping took third with a weight of 15-9-0 from peg 35 and Val Hiller took fourth spot with 13-11-0 from peg 21.
The club members raised £70 for the Prospect Hospice in memory of Danny Bohane.
With three chub weighing 10lb, taken on a maggot feeder, Colin Dunn won the Wednesday Veterans Open on the River Thames.
Second was Cliff Brown with an all roach catch of 8-1-0, and third with a mixed bag of 7-4-0 was Graham Rose.
The result was very close in Wootton Bassett's match against South Cerney on the Wilts and Berks Canal in Wootton Bassett.
South Cerney, with 10-1-0, justedged out the home side's 9-3-0. The top two weights were good but then fell away.
First was Simon Jones (South Cerney) 7-9-0, ahead of Harry Titcombe (Wootton Bassett) 6-15-0, while Steve Bell (Wootton Bassett) was third with 2lb.
Wootton Bassett's stocking programme continues this week, meanwhile, with 600 small carp to be put in High Penn and 3,000 rudd in the Canal.
