CHRISTMAS spirit arrived in grand style to a street in Pewsham on Saturday when a couple celebrated switching on their impressive Christmas lights display with a street party.
Thomas Mead residents Norman Pickett, 61, and his wife Melody, 54, decorate their home every year with Christmas lights and festive cheer.
"I have always loved Christmas since I was tiny, and it is now so wonderful to see the children's faces light up," said Mrs Pickett.
The couple have built up their light collection over the years and have decorated their Pewsham home with Christmas lights since they moved in seven years ago.
Last year Mr and Mrs Pickett organised their first street party to celebrate the switch-on of the lights in Millennium year.
Mrs Pickett also creates a snow scene on her piano, and has done so since she was 15-years-old. This year the piano is a ski slope landscape with tiny mice in different scenes.
"The piano took me about a day and a half to put together and my husband spend his weekends over a period of three weeks putting up the Christmas decorations.
"It is wonderful when it is finished people do make a special journey to see us," she said.
